Common questions
Is my bank data safe?
TAV connects through Plaid (US) or GoCardless (EU) — both are regulated financial data providers. TAV never sees your bank login credentials. Access is read-only, meaning TAV can view transactions but cannot move money or make changes to your account. You can revoke access instantly from your TAV dashboard or directly from your bank.
Which banks are supported?
In the US, TAV uses Plaid which connects to over 100 banks including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and most credit unions. In the EU, TAV uses GoCardless Open Banking which covers all PSD2-regulated banks — virtually every bank in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, and the UK.
How does auto-matching work?
When a new transaction syncs, TAV compares it against your open invoices and recent journal entries. It scores matches based on amount (exact match scores highest), date proximity, and invoice reference numbers in the transaction description. Matches scoring 0.95 or above are applied automatically. Lower-confidence matches appear in the Reconcile tab for your review.
Can I disconnect my bank at any time?
Yes. Go to the Bank page in your dashboard, find your connected account, and click the unlink button. Access is revoked immediately. Your existing transaction history and matches remain in TAV, but no new transactions will sync. You can also revoke access from your bank directly.
How often do transactions sync?
TAV syncs transactions automatically every day at 5am UTC. This means by the time you start your workday, yesterday's transactions are already in your dashboard. You can also trigger a manual sync any time by clicking the Sync button on the Bank page. Incremental sync means only new transactions are fetched — no duplicates.
